Our mission at Spider Lake Lodge is to provide a unique, casual and romantic lodging experience in an authentic, historic and beautiful log lodge.
To that end, we invite our guests to make themselves at home. It’s not uncommon for guests to do what is referred to as a “self check-in”, where a note with directions to your room can be found along with a reminder of when the coffee will be on and breakfast is served the following morning. If we do catch you upon arrival, expect a friendly greeting and story or two, and our favorite recommendations for a good dinner. After you’ve enjoyed some of the best the area has to offer, we invite you to return to the Lodge to a comfortable bed and a hearty breakfast the next day.
Every evening, we welcome guests into our home (the Lodge), from around the country and the world, so they may experience the special northern Wisconsin hospitality pioneered by Ted and Myrtle Moody nearly 100 years ago. We work very hard to provide a special experience for our guests, by designing, maintaining, cleaning, and upgrading our facilities as needed without jeopardizing the historic integrity of the old Lodge.
The Spider Lake Lodge offers a rare glimpse of life in another time. There is no cell phone service, room service or maid service. We do not have a front desk, doormen, bartenders, or a concierge. Rather, we seek to give our guests ample space to re-connect with each other, unwind and escape the rigors of daily life. The Spider Lake Lodge is not a 5 star hotel, luxury resort or chain hotel and we do not profess to offer the same services as provided by those fine establishments. We acknowledge that the Lodge experience may not be ideal for everyone.
So to the adventurers and romantics who seek out the unique experience offered at Spider Lake…we invite you to stay at the Lodge and look forward to meeting you soon. We are very proud of the efforts put forth to preserve this historic and architectural treasure and we are honored to open our home to you.
